Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Bandarawela Depot TATA LP 1210/42 bus (BW 05 / 30ශ්‍රී3124) photographed in Bandarawela on 12 July 2017. This classic SLTB Type C bus, built by the Central Workshop, Ekala on a TATA LP 1210/42 chassis, was manufactured in India in 1983 and registered on 1 September 1983. The bus was originally allocated to Negombo Depot before being transferred to Bandarawela Depot, where it continued to provide reliable passenger transport for many years. At the time this photograph was taken, the bus was operating on a local service between Boralanda and Bandarawela, representing one of the long-serving TATA buses that played a significant role in Sri Lanka's public transport system during the 1980s and beyond. Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Avissawella depot, CTB bodied TATA LP 1210/36 bus (AV 09 / 23ශ්‍රී5909) in the depot premises. The body of the bus was built by the CTB Werahara central workshop and allocated for the services in 1972. Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Kandy North Mercedes-Benz OP 312 bus (22ශ්‍රී4749) in the depot Premises. Body built by Voll, Switzerland. Acquired in 1958 in CTB service. Rajarata Bus Company (RRBC / now SLTB) Dambulla depot, Ruby bodied Tata LP 1210/52 bus (DB 30 / 61-3578) at Sigiriya. The bus, which was launched in 1992 under the then PTS (Peoplized Transport Service), is made entirely in India. The body of the bus is manufactured by Ruby coachbuilders. SRILANGMA (Now SLTB) Katubedda special tour depot, Ashok Leyland Viking 193 special tour bus (30ශ්‍රී8831) playing to Kataragama along the Galle road in 1987. Body built by SRILANGMA Ekala Workshop. Several of these were built in 1983-1987 period for the special tour purposes. Srilangma (now SLTB) Thalangama depot, Kitamura bodied ISUZU ECR 500 bus (TL 07 / 60ශ්‍රී3351) in the depot premises. Acquired to the SLTB fleet in 1986. Totaly 120 buses were imported and allocated to several depots island-wide. The bus had the famous ISUZU 6BD1R engine with automatic transmission. Body built by Kitamura Coch builders.
