Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Wariyapola Depot Latec-bodied TATA LP 1210/52 bus (WR 23 / 61-8389) is seen parked near a rest house in Kataragama. The bus was built by Latec with a Duple Metsec (UK) body and was added to the fleet in 1993, during the Peoplized Transport Service (PTS) era. In 2012, the bus underwent a rehabilitation carried out by the depot's own workers as part of a year-end rehabilitation project. Several modifications can be observed following the rehabilitation, including the modified headlight arrangement and replacement of the side shutters with shutters obtained from a Dimo-bodied bus. The photograph was taken on 31 December 2012 in Kataragama, while the bus was parked near a rest house. The bus is no longer in service and has since been withdrawn from active operations.-- ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලයේ (ශ්‍රී ලං.ග.ම.) වාරියපොල ඩිපෝව යටතේ ධාවනය වූ ලටෙක් ටාටා LP 1210/52 වර්ගයේ බස් රථයක් කතරගම දී. ලටෙක් සමාගම හා බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය ඩියුපල් මෙට්සෙක් සමාගම එක්ව (ලංගම පුද්ගලීකරණය කළ) වේරහැර මධ්‍යම වැඩපොළේ දී බඳ එකලස් කර 1993 වසරේ එවකට ජනතා සන්තක ප්‍රවාහන සේවය යටතේ ධාවනයට එක් කර ඇත. 2012 වසරේ, වර්ෂ අවසාන බස් රථ පුනරුත්ථාපන වැඩසටහන යටතේ පූර්ණ අලුත්වැඩියාවකට ලක් කර ඇති බස් රථය මෙලෙස අදාළ වැඩසටහන වෙත සහභාගී වීම සඳහා කතරගම වෙත පැමිණ තිබුණි. පසුකාලීන අලුත්වැඩියාවන් වලදී රථයේ ප්‍රධාන ලාම්පු මෙන්ම පැති ජනේලද වෙනස් වී ඇති බව නිරීක්ෂණය වේ. මේ වන විට රථය ධාවනයෙන් ඉවත්ව ඇත.

Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Ambalantota Depot MG Alma-bodied Ashok Leyland Leera luxury bus (NE-3617) is seen at the Makumbura Multimodal Center (MMC), moments before departing for Hambantota. The bus was obtained from Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC on a temporary hire basis and was allocated for expressway services between Makumbura and Hambantota via Agunukolapelessa. The bus was specially painted in a “Senkadagalapura” themed livery, featuring artwork inspired by the Sri Dalada Maligawa, traditional Kandyan elephants, and other cultural motifs associated with the heritage of Kandy. Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Horowpothana Depot Ashok Leyland Viking 222 Hino Power bus (HP 21 / NA-3474) photographed in Horowpothana town on 28 July 2026. This bus was fully manufactured in India and was acquired by Horowpothana Depot in 2006. At the time of this photograph, the bus was operating a local service from Kiwlekada to Anuradhapura via Horowpothana. Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Mullaithivu Depot Ashok Leyland 12M bus (MV 28 / ND-9728) photographed in Mullaithivu town on 27 July 2026. This 50-seat bus features a body built by Ruby Rushi in India and was added to the SLTB fleet in September 2019. These buses were specially built for the Sri Lanka Transport Board in India according to specifications provided by the SLTB, making them a distinct SLTB edition of the Ashok Leyland 12M. The photograph was taken as the bus was travelling towards the Mullaithivu Bus Stand. The bus is normally allocated to the long-distance service between Jaffna and Mullaithivu, providing an important transport connection between the major towns of the Northern Province. -- ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලයේ (SLTB) මුලතිව් ඩිපෝවට අයත් අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් 12M වර්ගයේ බස් රථයක්  (MV 28 / ND-9728) 2026 ජූලි 27 වන දින මුලතිව් නගරයේ දී. ආසන 50 කින් යුත් මෙම බස් රථය ඉන්දියාවේ රූබි සමාගම මගින් නිමවන ලද බඳකින් යුක්ත වන අතර එය 2019 සැප්තැම්බර් මාසයේදී ශ්‍රී ලංගම ඇණියට එක්වී ඇත. මෙම බස් රථ ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලය විසින් සපයන ලද පිරිවිතරයන්ට අනුව ඉන්දියාවේදී විශේෂයෙන් නිමවා ඇත. ඡායාරූපය ලබා ගාන්නා අවස්ථාවේ බස් රථය මුලතිව් බස් නැවතුම්පොළ දෙසට ගමන් කරමින් තිබුණි. රථය සාමාන්‍යයෙන් යාපනය සහ මුලතිව් අතර දුර ගමන් සේවා සඳහා යොදා ගැනේ.

Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Vavuniya Depot Ashok Leyland Comet Minor breakdown service vehicle (62-4561) parked within the depot premises. Originally built as an Ashok Leyland Comet Minor bus, this vehicle was later converted into a breakdown and recovery unit to provide roadside assistance and towing services for the depot fleet. Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Bandarawela Depot TATA LP 1210/42 bus (BW 05 / 30ශ්‍රී3124) photographed in Bandarawela on 12 July 2017. This classic SLTB Type C bus, built by the Central Workshop, Ekala on a TATA LP 1210/42 chassis, was manufactured in India in 1983 and registered on 1 September 1983. The bus was originally allocated to Negombo Depot before being transferred to Bandarawela Depot, where it continued to provide reliable passenger transport for many years. At the time this photograph was taken, the bus was operating on a local service between Boralanda and Bandarawela, representing one of the long-serving TATA buses that played a significant role in Sri Lanka's public transport system during the 1980s and beyond. Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Rambukkana Depot Ashok Leyland Viking 193 bus (62-9201) at the Rambukkana Bus Stand. This Latec Kesco-bodied bus, built using Duple Metsec technology, was originally added to the fleet in 1998 and was first allocated to Homagama Depot under the former Colombo Metropolitan Bus Company during the period when the SLTB was divided into several regional bus companies. By the time this photograph was taken on 26 February 2015, the bus had been transferred to Rambukkana Depot and was operating on route 681 between Rambukkana and Kegalle. -- ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලයේ රඹුක්කන ඩිපෝව යටතේ ධාවනය වන අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් වයිකින්ග් 193 වර්ගයේ ලටෙක් කෙස්කෝ බඳ සහිත බස් රථයක් රඹුක්කන බස් නැවතුමේ දී. 1998 වසරේ ධාවනයට එකතු වී ඇති මෙම බස් රථය එවකට කලම්බෝ මෙට්‍රොපොලිටන් බස් සමාගමේ හෝමාගම ඩිපෝව යටතේ ධාවනයට එකතු වී ඇත. ලටෙක් සමාගම මගින් බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය ඩියුපල් තාක්‍ෂණය යටතේ යටතේ මෙරටදී බඳ නිමවා ධාවනයට එකතුකල බස් රථයකි. ඡායාරූපය ලබාගත් 2015 පෙබරවාරි 26 දින වන විට රඹුක්කන ඩිපෝව වෙත ලැබී ඇති බස් රථය, එම අවස්ථාවේ මාර්ග අංක 681 යටතේ කෑගල්ල හා රඹුක්කන අතර ධාවනයට යොදවා තිබුණි.

Body built by Ruby coach builders according to the SLTB specifications and acquired to the SLTB fleet in 2012. Here after a rehabilitation done by the depot workers under the 2013 year-end special rehabilitation project. -- ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලයේ (ශ්‍රී ලං.ග.ම.) කලවාන ඩිපෝවට අයත් ලටෙක් ටාටා LP 1510/52 bus වර්ගයේ බස් රථයක් කතරගම දී. රථයේ බඳ ලටෙක් සමාගම මගින් ඩියුපල් මෙට්සෙක් තාක්ෂනය යටතේ පුද්ගලීකරණය කරන ලද ලංගම වේරහැර වැඩපොළේ දී නිමවා, 2000 වසරේ එවකට සබරගමුව බස් සමාගම යටතේ ධාවනයට එක් කර ඇත. පුද්ගලික අංශය යටතේ වේරහැර වැඩපොළේ නිම කරන ලද අවසාන බස් රථ වර්ගය මේවාය. 2013 වසරේ දෙසැම්බර් මස මෙලෙස ඩිපෝ සේවක පිරිස විසින් පුනරුත්ථාපනය කර ඇත්තේ ජනපති පදවිප්‍රාප්තිය හා බස් ජනසතු දිනයට සමගාමීව වසර අවසානයේ පැවැත්වූ පුනරුත්ථාපන ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේය.

On the early morning of May 11, 2025, this bus, which was operating from Kataragama to Kurunegala via Nuwara Eliya, veered off the Nuwara Eliya - Gampola main road and plunged into a precipice near the Garandi Ella area in Kotmale. The tragic accident claimed the lives of 22 individuals and left over 35 others injured. The bus was completely destroyed in the incident.

2025 වසරේ මැයි මස 11 වන දින අලුයම මෙම බස් රථය කතරගම සිට නුවරඑළිය හරහා කුරුණෑගල දක්වා ධාවනය වන අතරතුර නුවරඑළිය - ගම්පොළ ප්‍රධාන මාර්ගයේ කොත්මලේ ගැරඬිඇල්ල ප්‍රදේශයේදී මාර්ගයෙන් ඉවතට පැන ප්‍රපාතයකට පෙරලීයෑමෙන් සිදුවූ අනතුරකින් පුද්ගලයින් විසි දෙදෙනෙකු ජීවිතක්ෂයට පත්ව 35කට අධික පිරිසක් තුවාල ලබා ඇති අතර අදාළ අනතුරෙන් බස් රථය සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම විනාශ වී ගොස් ඇත.

The bus acquired to the SLTB Valaichchenai depot fleet in 2015. Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Embilipitiya depot, Bharat bodied Ashok Leyland Comet Minior bus (EMB 85 / GD-9895) at the Embilipitiya bus stand. The bus, fully made in India, was added to the depot fleet in 2001 and, at the time the photo was taken, it used to operate on the 'Urubokka- Embilipitiya' route under route number 168.
