Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Ambalantota Depot MG Alma-bodied Ashok Leyland Leera luxury bus (NE-3617) is seen at the Makumbura Multimodal Center (MMC), moments before departing for Hambantota. The bus was obtained from Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC on a temporary hire basis and was allocated for expressway services between Makumbura and Hambantota via Agunukolapelessa. The bus was specially painted in a “Senkadagalapura” themed livery, featuring artwork inspired by the Sri Dalada Maligawa, traditional Kandyan elephants, and other cultural motifs associated with the heritage of Kandy. Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Mullaithivu Depot Ashok Leyland 12M bus (MV 28 / ND-9728) photographed in Mullaithivu town on 27 July 2026. This 50-seat bus features a body built by Ruby Rushi in India and was added to the SLTB fleet in September 2019. These buses were specially built for the Sri Lanka Transport Board in India according to specifications provided by the SLTB, making them a distinct SLTB edition of the Ashok Leyland 12M. The photograph was taken as the bus was travelling towards the Mullaithivu Bus Stand. The bus is normally allocated to the long-distance service between Jaffna and Mullaithivu, providing an important transport connection between the major towns of the Northern Province. -- ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලයේ (SLTB) මුලතිව් ඩිපෝවට අයත් අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් 12M වර්ගයේ බස් රථයක්  (MV 28 / ND-9728) 2026 ජූලි 27 වන දින මුලතිව් නගරයේ දී. ආසන 50 කින් යුත් මෙම බස් රථය ඉන්දියාවේ රූබි සමාගම මගින් නිමවන ලද බඳකින් යුක්ත වන අතර එය 2019 සැප්තැම්බර් මාසයේදී ශ්‍රී ලංගම ඇණියට එක්වී ඇත. මෙම බස් රථ ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලය විසින් සපයන ලද පිරිවිතරයන්ට අනුව ඉන්දියාවේදී විශේෂයෙන් නිමවා ඇත. ඡායාරූපය ලබා ගාන්නා අවස්ථාවේ බස් රථය මුලතිව් බස් නැවතුම්පොළ දෙසට ගමන් කරමින් තිබුණි. රථය සාමාන්‍යයෙන් යාපනය සහ මුලතිව් අතර දුර ගමන් සේවා සඳහා යොදා ගැනේ.

On the early morning of May 11, 2025, this bus, which was operating from Kataragama to Kurunegala via Nuwara Eliya, veered off the Nuwara Eliya - Gampola main road and plunged into a precipice near the Garandi Ella area in Kotmale. The tragic accident claimed the lives of 22 individuals and left over 35 others injured. The bus was completely destroyed in the incident.

2025 වසරේ මැයි මස 11 වන දින අලුයම මෙම බස් රථය කතරගම සිට නුවරඑළිය හරහා කුරුණෑගල දක්වා ධාවනය වන අතරතුර නුවරඑළිය - ගම්පොළ ප්‍රධාන මාර්ගයේ කොත්මලේ ගැරඬිඇල්ල ප්‍රදේශයේදී මාර්ගයෙන් ඉවතට පැන ප්‍රපාතයකට පෙරලීයෑමෙන් සිදුවූ අනතුරකින් පුද්ගලයින් විසි දෙදෙනෙකු ජීවිතක්ෂයට පත්ව 35කට අධික පිරිසක් තුවාල ලබා ඇති අතර අදාළ අනතුරෙන් බස් රථය සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම විනාශ වී ගොස් ඇත.
