Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Horowpothana Depot Ashok Leyland Viking 222 Hino Power bus (HP 21 / NA-3474) photographed in Horowpothana town on 28 July 2026. This bus was fully manufactured in India and was acquired by Horowpothana Depot in 2006. At the time of this photograph, the bus was operating a local service from Kiwlekada to Anuradhapura via Horowpothana. Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Mullaithivu Depot Ashok Leyland 12M bus (MV 28 / ND-9728) photographed in Mullaithivu town on 27 July 2026. This 50-seat bus features a body built by Ruby Rushi in India and was added to the SLTB fleet in September 2019. These buses were specially built for the Sri Lanka Transport Board in India according to specifications provided by the SLTB, making them a distinct SLTB edition of the Ashok Leyland 12M. The photograph was taken as the bus was travelling towards the Mullaithivu Bus Stand. The bus is normally allocated to the long-distance service between Jaffna and Mullaithivu, providing an important transport connection between the major towns of the Northern Province. -- ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලයේ (SLTB) මුලතිව් ඩිපෝවට අයත් අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් 12M වර්ගයේ බස් රථයක්  (MV 28 / ND-9728) 2026 ජූලි 27 වන දින මුලතිව් නගරයේ දී. ආසන 50 කින් යුත් මෙම බස් රථය ඉන්දියාවේ රූබි සමාගම මගින් නිමවන ලද බඳකින් යුක්ත වන අතර එය 2019 සැප්තැම්බර් මාසයේදී ශ්‍රී ලංගම ඇණියට එක්වී ඇත. මෙම බස් රථ ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලය විසින් සපයන ලද පිරිවිතරයන්ට අනුව ඉන්දියාවේදී විශේෂයෙන් නිමවා ඇත. ඡායාරූපය ලබා ගාන්නා අවස්ථාවේ බස් රථය මුලතිව් බස් නැවතුම්පොළ දෙසට ගමන් කරමින් තිබුණි. රථය සාමාන්‍යයෙන් යාපනය සහ මුලතිව් අතර දුර ගමන් සේවා සඳහා යොදා ගැනේ.

Lanka Metro Transit (LMT) has taken delivery of 104 brand-new Foton BJ6123C buses, marking another significant step towards modernizing Sri Lanka's public transport fleet. The new buses arrived in the country on 29 July 2026 and are currently stationed at the State Engineering Corporation (SEC) yard in Wattala, where they are undergoing inspection and pre-delivery preparations before entering passenger service. -- 2026 ජූලි මස 29 වන දින ලංකා මෙට්‍රෝ ට්‍රාන්සිට් (LMT) සමාගම වෙත ගෙන එන ලද ෆෝටන් BJ6123C බස් රථ 104 ක කාණ්ඩයකින් කොටසක් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට ලැබුණි.  ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ පොදු ප්‍රවාහන ඇණිය නවීකරණය කිරීමේ තවත් වැදගත් පියවරක් සනිටුහන් කරමින් මෙරටට පැමිණි බස් රථ දැනට වත්තල රාජ්‍ය ඉංජිනේරු සංස්ථාවේ (SEC) අංගනයේ ස්ථානගත කර ඇති අතර, මගී සේවයට පිවිසීමට පෙර ඒවා පරීක්ෂා කිරීම සහ බෙදා හැරීමට පෙර සූදානම් කිරීම්, ආදාළ නියෝජිත ඉන්ද්‍රා ට්‍රේඩර්ස් සමාගම විසින් සිදු කරනු ලැබේ.

Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Vavuniya Depot Ashok Leyland Comet Minor breakdown service vehicle (62-4561) parked within the depot premises. Originally built as an Ashok Leyland Comet Minor bus, this vehicle was later converted into a breakdown and recovery unit to provide roadside assistance and towing services for the depot fleet. Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Rambukkana Depot Ashok Leyland Viking 193 bus (62-9201) at the Rambukkana Bus Stand. This Latec Kesco-bodied bus, built using Duple Metsec technology, was originally added to the fleet in 1998 and was first allocated to Homagama Depot under the former Colombo Metropolitan Bus Company during the period when the SLTB was divided into several regional bus companies. By the time this photograph was taken on 26 February 2015, the bus had been transferred to Rambukkana Depot and was operating on route 681 between Rambukkana and Kegalle. -- ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලයේ රඹුක්කන ඩිපෝව යටතේ ධාවනය වන අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් වයිකින්ග් 193 වර්ගයේ ලටෙක් කෙස්කෝ බඳ සහිත බස් රථයක් රඹුක්කන බස් නැවතුමේ දී. 1998 වසරේ ධාවනයට එකතු වී ඇති මෙම බස් රථය එවකට කලම්බෝ මෙට්‍රොපොලිටන් බස් සමාගමේ හෝමාගම ඩිපෝව යටතේ ධාවනයට එකතු වී ඇත. ලටෙක් සමාගම මගින් බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය ඩියුපල් තාක්‍ෂණය යටතේ යටතේ මෙරටදී බඳ නිමවා ධාවනයට එකතුකල බස් රථයකි. ඡායාරූපය ලබාගත් 2015 පෙබරවාරි 26 දින වන විට රඹුක්කන ඩිපෝව වෙත ලැබී ඇති බස් රථය, එම අවස්ථාවේ මාර්ග අංක 681 යටතේ කෑගල්ල හා රඹුක්කන අතර ධාවනයට යොදවා තිබුණි.

A new urban bus service was launched today under the Lanka Metro Transit (LMT) Company. As part of this initiative, 10 Foton BJ6129C model city buses received under the Clean Sri Lanka project were deployed for operation today as a pilot project. These buses, specially designed for urban transport, are equipped with essential features expected in a modern public transportation system. These include low-floor access, facilities to accommodate wheelchairs for passengers with disabilities, and automated fare payment systems. -- අද දින ලංකා මෙට්‍රෝ ට්‍රාන්සිට් (LMT) සමාගම යටතේ නවතම නාගරික බස් රථ සේවාවක් ආරම්භ කරන ලදී. ඒ යටතේ LMT වෙත Clean Sri Lanka ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ ලැබුණු ෆෝටන් BJ6129C වර්ගයේ නාගරික සේවා බස් රථ 10ක් අද දින නියමු ව්‍යාපෘතියක් ලෙස ධාවනයට එක් කරන ලදී. නාගරික සේවා වෙනුවෙන් විශේෂයෙන් සැකසුනු මෙම බස් රථ පහත් පිවිසුම් හැකියාව, ආබාධිත පුරවැසියන්ගේ රෝද පුටු ඇතුළු කිරීමේ හැකියාව, ස්වයංක්‍රීය මුදල් ගෙවීමේ හැකියාව ඇතුළු සම්මත පොදු ප්‍රවාහන පද්ධතියක පැවතිය යුතු පහසුකම් වලින් සමන්විතය.

The bus was obtained from Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC on a temporary hire basis and was allocated for expressway services between Makumbura and Galle. Body built by the Latec (pvt) ltd with Deuple Metsec (UK) and acquired to the SBCL fleet in 2000. The bus acquired to the SLTB Valaichchenai depot fleet in 2015. This photo was taken in January 2018 while it was allocated for the services between Negombo and Kurunegala under route number 34. -- ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලයේ (ශ්‍රී ලං.ග.ම.) ගිරිඋල්ල ඩිපෝව යටතේ ධාවනය වන ආසන 54 කින් යුත් අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් වයිකින්ග් 210 වර්ගයේ බස් රථයක් ගිරිඋල්ලේ දී. 2015 වසරේදී, බස් රථ 2200 ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ ඩිපෝවට ලැබී ඇති රථය සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම ඉන්දියාවේ දී නිමවා ඇත. 2018 වසරේ ජනවාරි මස ඡායාරූපය ලබාගන්නා අවස්ථාවේ රථය මීගමුව හා කුරුණෑගල අතර ධාවනයට යොදවා තිබුණේ මාර්ග අංක 34 යටතේය.

Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Embilipitiya depot, Bharat bodied Ashok Leyland Comet Minior bus (EMB 85 / GD-9895) at the Embilipitiya bus stand. The bus, fully made in India, was added to the depot fleet in 2001 and, at the time the photo was taken, it used to operate on the 'Urubokka- Embilipitiya' route under route number 168. Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Udugama depot, 42-seater Ashok Leyland Viking 193 Turbo bus (UG 26 / NC-0082) in the depot premises. The bus, fully made in India, was added to the depot fleet in 2014 and, at the time the photo was taken, it used to operate on the 'Ihala Udugama - Galle' route under route number 427/1. This photo was taken in January 2016 while it was parked in the depot. -- ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලයේ (ශ්‍රී ලං.ග.ම.) උඩුගම ඩිපෝව යටතේ ධාවනය වන, ආසන 42 අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් වයිකින්ග් 193 ටර්බෝ වර්ගයේ බස් රථයක් ඩිපෝ පරිශ්‍රයේ දී. 2014 වසරේ ඩිපෝවට ලැබී ඇති රථය සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම ඉන්දියාවේ දී නිමවා ඇත. බස් රථ 2200 ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ ශ්‍රී ලංගම රථ ඇණිය හා එක් වූ බස් රථයකි. මාර්ග අංක 427/1 යටතේ ඉහළ උඩුගම හා ගාල්ල අතර ධාවනයට යොදවා තිබුණු බස් රථය 2016 වසරේ ජනවාරි මස ඡායාරූපය ලබාගන්නා අවස්ථාවේ ඩිපෝ පරිශ්‍රයේ ගාල් කොට තිබුණි.

Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Sammanthurai sub depot, Ashok Leyland Viking 222 Hinopower bus (SMT 07 / NA - 4163) at the Galle face green. The bus acquired to the SLTB fleet in 2007. Rehabilitated by the depot workers under the 2020 year-end special rehabilitation project. In late 2022, the Sammanthurai sub-depot was closed and all buses were assigned to its main depot, the Kalmunai depot. -- ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලයේ (ශ්‍රී ලං.ග.ම.) සම්මාන්තුරේ (සමන්තර) උප ඩිපෝවට අයත්, අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් වයිකින්ග් 222 වර්ගයේ බස් රථයක් කොළඹ ගාළු මුවදොර පිටියේ දී. සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම ඉන්දියාවේ නිමවා ඇති රථය 2007 වසරේ ශ්‍රී ලංගම රථ ඇණිය හා එක්වී ඇත. පසු කාලීනව ධාවනයන් සීමා වී තිබී ඇති බස් රථය, මෙලෙස බස් ජනසතු දිනයට සමගාමීව වසර අවසානයේ පැවැත්වූ පුනරුත්ථාපන ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ පූර්ණ අලුත්වැඩියාවකට ලක් කර 2020 වසරේ දෙසැම්බර් 31 දින මෙලෙස සංඛේතාත්මකව ධාවනයට එක් කර තිබුණි. 2022 වසරේ අග භාගයේ සම්මාන්තුරේ උප ඩිපෝව වසා දමන ලද අතර බස් රථ සියල්ල එහි ප්‍රධාන ඩිපෝව වූ කල්මුණේ ඩිපෝව වෙත අනියුක්ත කරන ලදී.

This photo was taken in November 2016 while it was waiting for fueling. -- ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලයේ (ශ්‍රී ලං.ග.ම.) දැරණියගල ඩිපෝවට අයත්, අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් වයිකින්ග් 222 හිනෝපවර් වර්ගයේ බස් රථයක් ඩිපෝ පරිශ්‍රයේ දී. සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම ඉන්දියාවේ නිමවා 2007 වසරේ ඩිපෝවට ලබා දී ඇත. 2016 වසරේ නොවැම්බර් මස ඡායාරූපය ලබාගන්නා අවස්ථාවේ ඉන්ධන සපයා ගැනීම වෙනුවෙන් ගාල් කොට තිබුණි.
