Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Mullaithivu Depot Ashok Leyland 12M bus (MV 28 / ND-9728) photographed in Mullaithivu town on 27 July 2026. This 50-seat bus features a body built by Ruby Rushi in India and was added to the SLTB fleet in September 2019. These buses were specially built for the Sri Lanka Transport Board in India according to specifications provided by the SLTB, making them a distinct SLTB edition of the Ashok Leyland 12M. The photograph was taken as the bus was travelling towards the Mullaithivu Bus Stand. The bus is normally allocated to the long-distance service between Jaffna and Mullaithivu, providing an important transport connection between the major towns of the Northern Province. -- ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලයේ (SLTB) මුලතිව් ඩිපෝවට අයත් අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් 12M වර්ගයේ බස් රථයක්  (MV 28 / ND-9728) 2026 ජූලි 27 වන දින මුලතිව් නගරයේ දී. ආසන 50 කින් යුත් මෙම බස් රථය ඉන්දියාවේ රූබි සමාගම මගින් නිමවන ලද බඳකින් යුක්ත වන අතර එය 2019 සැප්තැම්බර් මාසයේදී ශ්‍රී ලංගම ඇණියට එක්වී ඇත. මෙම බස් රථ ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලය විසින් සපයන ලද පිරිවිතරයන්ට අනුව ඉන්දියාවේදී විශේෂයෙන් නිමවා ඇත. ඡායාරූපය ලබා ගාන්නා අවස්ථාවේ බස් රථය මුලතිව් බස් නැවතුම්පොළ දෙසට ගමන් කරමින් තිබුණි. රථය සාමාන්‍යයෙන් යාපනය සහ මුලතිව් අතර දුර ගමන් සේවා සඳහා යොදා ගැනේ.

Allocated for the service between Dehiattakandiya and Galle. -- ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලයේ (ශ්‍රී ලං.ග.ම.) දෙහිඅත්තකණ්ඩිය ඩිපෝව යටතේ ධාවනය වන ආසන 50 කින් යුත් අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් 12M වර්ගයේ බස් රථයක් ගාල්ල නගරයේ දී. 2019 වසරේ සැප්තැම්බර් මස, උපයා ගෙවීමේ පදනම මත ඩිපෝව මගින් මිලදී ගෙන ඇති රථය සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම ඉන්දියාවේ නිමවා ඇති අතර ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලයේ පිරිවිතරයන්ට අනුකූලව විශේෂයෙන් නිමවාගෙන ඇත. ඡායාරූපය ලබාගන්නා අවස්ථාවේ රථය ගාල්ල හා දෙහිඅත්තකණ්ඩිය අතර ධාවනයට යොදවා තිබුණි.

ශ්‍රී ලං.ග.ම. අංගොඩ ඩිපෝව මගින් උපයා ගෙවීමේ පදනම මත මිලදී ගත් අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් 12M වර්ගයේ ආසන 50 ක් සහිත මෙම බස් රථයේ (AG 68 /ND-9452) මාර්ග අංක 154 යටතේ බම්බලපිටියේ සිට බොරැල්ල දක්වා සංචාරය කිරීමට මා හට අවස්ථාව ලැබුණි. වැඩි පිරිසකට අසුන් ගැනීමේ හැකියාවත් ආසන අතර එහා මෙහා ගමන් කිරීමට වැඩි ඉඩ පහසුවත් නිසා කොළඹ නගරයේ තදාසන්න මාර්ග සඳහා මෙම රථ වඩා යෝග්‍ය බව ප්‍රත්‍යක්ෂ විය. කෙසේ නමුදු ඉදිරියේ දී මෙම රථය වෙනත් දුර සේවාවක් වෙනුවෙන් යොදා ගැනෙනු ඇත.

මගීන්ට පහසු මෙවැනි රථ යොදා ගනිමින් කොළඹ නගරයේ තදාසන්න මාර්ග ආවරණය කරමින් මගී ජනතාවට වඩාත් හොඳ සේවාවක් ලබාදීම සඳහා ප්‍රවාහන බලධාරීන්ගේ අවධානය යොමුවේවායි පතමි.

Today the Sri Lanka Transport board (SLTB) received 18 of new Ashok Leyland 12M 50 seater and 03 of Ashok Leyland LYNX 33 seater buses. Those are allocated to several depots. Totally 272 buses will allocate under this project. -- අද දින ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලය වෙනුවෙන් නව අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් 12M වර්ගයේ ආසන 50 බස් රථ 18 ක් සහ අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් LYNX වර්ගයේ ආසන 33 බස් රථ 3ක් ලැබුණු අතර ඒවා ඩිපෝවන් වෙත ලබාදීම සිදුවිය. ඒ යටතේ ඩිපෝවන් 06 ක් වෙත සංඛේතාත්මකව බෙදා දුන් බස් රථ 06 ක් ශ්‍රී ලංගම ශාලිකා ක්‍රීඩාංගන පරිශ්‍රයේ නවතා ඇති අකාරය ඡායාරූපයේ දැක්වේ. අදාළ බස් රථ ඩිපෝවන් මගින් උපයා ගෙවීමේ පදනම මත මිලදී ගෙන ඇත. මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ ඉදිරියේදී අදියර කිහිපයක් යටතේ බස් රථ ඩිපෝවන් වෙත, ආසන 50 බස් රථ 272 ක් සහ ආසන 33 බස් රථ 53ක් වශයෙන් බෙදී යනු ඇත.

අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් 12M  වර්ගයේ මෙම බස් රථ, මේ දක්වා ශ්‍රී ලංගම යටතේ සාමාන්‍ය හා අර්ධ සුඛෝපබෝගී සේවා යටතේ ධාවනය වූ අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් වයිකින්ග් බස් රථ වලට වඩා යම් වෙනස්කම් වලින් යුක්තය. මෙහි කැපී පෙනෙන වෙනසක් වන්නේ රථය දිගින් වැඩි වීමය. තට්ටුවේ මුළු දිග මීටර 11.7 ක් ලෙස සඳහන් වේ. මෙහි බඳ ශ්‍රී ලංගම වෙනුවෙන් විශේෂයෙන් එකලස් කරන ලද්දක් වන අතර පැත්තෙන් පැමිණෙන ආපදා දොරටුව මෙන්ම පසුපස මුහුණතේ ආපදා දොරටුව වශයෙන් දොරටු දෙකක් රථ සතුය. සමස්ථ බස් රථයේ උස සාමාන්‍ය වයිකින්ග් බස් රථයකට වඩා තරමක් වැඩිය. පළලින් වැඩි 2X2 රටාවට සකසූ උස් ඇන්ද සහිත ආසන රථ සතු වන අතර ආසන අතර මගීන්ට පහසුවෙන් හුවමාරු විය හැකි ඉඩක් තිබේ. තාක්‍ෂණික වෙනස්කම් වශයෙන් ගත් කල ඉන්දියානු BS4 තාක්‍ෂණයට අනුකූලව රථ නිමවී ඇති අතර කොමන්රේල් තාක්‍ෂණයෙන් යුතු එනිජ්මක් රථ සතුය.

මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ ලැබුණු අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් LYNX බස් රථ වලද පූර්වයෙහි ලැබුණු බස් රථ වලට වඩා යම් යම් බාහිර වෙනස්කම් දක්නට ලැබේ. සමස්ථ බස් රථය උසින් වැඩි වීම ඒ අතරින් කැපී පෙනේ. තාක්‍ෂණික වෙනස්කම් වශයෙන් ගත් කල ඉන්දියානු BS4 තාක්‍ෂණයට අනුකූලව මෙම රථ ද නිමවී ඇති අතර කොමන්රේල් තාක්‍ෂණයෙන් යුතු එනිජ්මක් රථ සතුය.

Today the Sri Lanka Transport board (SLTB) received 15 of new Ashok Leyland 12M SLTB Edition 50 seater buses and those are allocated to several depots. Maharagama depot also received two buses and one of those you can see on the picture. -- අද දින ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලය වෙනුවෙන් නව අශෝක් ලේලන්ඩ් 12M වර්ගයේ ආසන 50 බස් රථ 15ක් ලැබුණු අතර ඒවා ඩිපෝවන් වෙත ලබාදීම සිදුවිය. ඒ යටතේ මහරගම ඩිපෝවට ලැබුණු බස් රථ දෙකෙන් එකක් ඡායාරූපයෙ දැක්වේ. ඉන්දියාවේ රුබී සමාගම මගින් ශ්‍රී ලංගම වෙනුවෙන් විශේෂයෙන් එකලස් කල බඳකින් යුතු මෙම බස් රථ 2x2 ආසන සැකැස්මට නිමවා ඇත.  Common-rail තාක්‍ෂණය සහිත එනිජිමකින් යුතු රථ තවත් යාවත්කාලීන රැසක් සහිතව පැමිණ ඇත. ඩිපෝවන් මගින් සම්පූර්ණ මුදල් ගෙවා වෙන් කර ගත් බස් රථ මෙලෙස ඩිපෝවන් වෙත බෙදා දී ඇත. ඒ යටතේ පොලොන්නරුව ඩිපෝවට බස් රථ හතක්, හැටන්  ඩිපෝවට බස් රථ දෙකක්, වෙන්නප්පුව ඩිපෝවට  බස් රථ දෙකක්,  මහරගම ඩිපෝවට බස් රථ දෙකක් හා කුලියාපිටිය ඩිපෝවට එක් බස් රථයක් ලෙස බෙදී ගොස් ඇත.

රථයේ පිටුපස මුහුණතේ මෙන්ම දකුණු පැත්තෙන් ද ආපදා දොරටු පිහිටුවා ඇත.
