Lanka Metro Transit (LMT) has taken delivery of 104 brand-new Foton BJ6129C buses, marking another significant step towards modernizing Sri Lanka's public transport fleet. The new buses arrived in the country on 29 July 2026 and are currently stationed at the State Engineering Corporation (SEC) yard in Wattala, where they are undergoing inspection and pre-delivery preparations before entering passenger service. -- 2026 ජූලි මස 29 වන දින ලංකා මෙට්‍රෝ ට්‍රාන්සිට් (LMT) සමාගම වෙත ගෙන එන ලද ෆෝටන් BJ6129C බස් රථ 104 ක කාණ්ඩයකින් කොටසක් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට ලැබුණි.  ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ පොදු ප්‍රවාහන ඇණිය නවීකරණය කිරීමේ තවත් වැදගත් පියවරක් සනිටුහන් කරමින් මෙරටට පැමිණි බස් රථ දැනට වත්තල රාජ්‍ය ඉංජිනේරු සංස්ථාවේ (SEC) අංගනයේ ස්ථානගත කර ඇති අතර, මගී සේවයට පිවිසීමට පෙර ඒවා පරීක්ෂා කිරීම සහ බෙදා හැරීමට පෙර සූදානම් කිරීම්, ආදාළ නියෝජිත ඉන්ද්‍රා ට්‍රේඩර්ස් සමාගම විසින් සිදු කරනු ලැබේ.

A new urban bus service was launched today under the Lanka Metro Transit (LMT) Company. As part of this initiative, 10 Foton BJ6129C model city buses received under the Clean Sri Lanka project were deployed for operation today as a pilot project. These buses, specially designed for urban transport, are equipped with essential features expected in a modern public transportation system. These include low-floor access, facilities to accommodate wheelchairs for passengers with disabilities, and automated fare payment systems. -- අද දින ලංකා මෙට්‍රෝ ට්‍රාන්සිට් (LMT) සමාගම යටතේ නවතම නාගරික බස් රථ සේවාවක් ආරම්භ කරන ලදී. ඒ යටතේ LMT වෙත Clean Sri Lanka ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ ලැබුණු ෆෝටන් BJ6129C වර්ගයේ නාගරික සේවා බස් රථ 10ක් අද දින නියමු ව්‍යාපෘතියක් ලෙස ධාවනයට එක් කරන ලදී. නාගරික සේවා වෙනුවෙන් විශේෂයෙන් සැකසුනු මෙම බස් රථ පහත් පිවිසුම් හැකියාව, ආබාධිත පුරවැසියන්ගේ රෝද පුටු ඇතුළු කිරීමේ හැකියාව, ස්වයංක්‍රීය මුදල් ගෙවීමේ හැකියාව ඇතුළු සම්මත පොදු ප්‍රවාහන පද්ධතියක පැවතිය යුතු පහසුකම් වලින් සමන්විතය.
