Unicar bodied Leyland Tiger TL 11 bus from SLTB Ratmalana depot

Sri Lanka transport Board (SLTB) Rathmalana depot, Unicar bodied Leyland Tiger TL 11 (Hydracyclic) bus (RL 2/ 30ශ්‍රී7501) at Bambalapitiya, Colombo. Playing from Mount-Lavinia to Pettah under the route number 100. -- ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලයේ (ශ්‍රී ලංගම) රත්මලාන ඩිපෝව යටතේ ධාවනය වන 'Leyland Tiger TL 11' වර්ගයේ බස් රථයක් බම්බලපිටියේදී. එංගලන්තයේ ලේලන්ඩ් සමාගම මගින් නිෂ්පාදිත චැසියකට ස්පාඤ්ඤයේ යුනිකාර් සමාගම මගින් බඳ සකසා ඇත. ස්වයංක්‍රීය ගියර් පද්දතියක් ඇති මෙම බස් රථයේ එන්ජිම රථය මැද පිහිටා තිබීමද මෙහි ඇති විශේෂත්වයකි. දුනු වෙනුවට වායු අවලම්බක (බැලූන) පද්දතියකින් සමන්විත නිසා ගමන් ගන්නා මගීන්ටද ඉතා සුවපහසු බස් රථයක් ලෙස සැලකේ. ශ්‍රීලංගම හා එකතු වී ඇත්තේ 1984 වසරේ පරීක්ෂණ ධාවනයක් සඳහාය. මෙම වර්ගයේ බස් රථ දෙකක් ඒ යටතේ ලැබී ඇති නමුත් මෙම බස් රථ ශ්‍රීලංගම සඳහා නිර්දේශ වී නොමැත.

These were imported in 1983/1984 period.They were expensive buses bodies built by Unicar Spain Prics would have been in the range of Rs 4-5 million during that time .4 buses were added to Ratmalana - 2 Leyland Tiger TL 11s & 2 Leyland Victory(s)Numbers were 30Sri 7501 & 7502 Victories were 30Sri8909 & 8910.Tiger baring 30-7502 was sold for scrap.Victory baring 8910 caught fire during JVP violance in 1988 at Fort and 8909 was fixed with a aluminium body removed from a discarded Clysdale and later sold for scrap to a garage in Kesbewa

  3. It was 30 sri 8910 that was sold to a garage in Kesbewa in 2002.

  4. මොන තරම් සොඳුරු මතකද! ඉස්සර මේ බස් දෙකෙන් එකක් එනකල් ගාලුපාරෙ පැය ගනන් උන්න. එච්චරට යන්න ආසයි. ඇයි අර මෙතෝදිස්ත කිකියන්ට මේ බස් එකක් ස්කූල් බස් හැටියට දීපු එකට අපි කොයී තරම් ඉරිසියා කරාද!

    1. ඔබට මේ බස් රථ එක්ක සුන්දර මතකයන් තිබෙන පාටයි. ඒ මතකයන් අවදිකරවීමට ලංගම බස් අඩවියට හැකිවීම ගැන සතුටුයි... :) මේ එක්ක ආපු අනෙක් බස් රථය දේශප්‍රේමීන් ගිනිබත් කර ඇති බවටයි ආරංචි.. :(

    2. Uthpala-I think you should have a photagraph of Leyland Victory in this blog.
      You can obtain a photagraph from the book called Busworld- Sri Lanka Buses & Coaches.There is a image of a Vicoty baring No RL151
      Though it is a photagraph taken by somebody else you could include in the blog for the benefit of others
