Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Head office, CTB bodied Mercedes-Benz LP312/32 Staff bus (23ශ්‍රී3962) in the Thalangama depot premises. Acquired to the CTB Kegalle depot in 1970. -- ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලයේ (ශ්‍රී ලං.ග.ම.) ප්‍රධාන කාර්යාලයට අයත්, ලංගම බඳ සහිත මර්සිඩීස් බෙන්ස් LP312/32 වර්ගයේ E කාණ්ඩයට අයත් බස් රථයක් තලංගම ඩිපෝ පරිශ්‍රයේ දී. 1970 වසරේ ලංගම කෑගල්ල ඩිපෝව යටතේ ධාවනයට එක්වී ඇති රථයේ බඳ ලංගම වේරහැර මධ්‍යම වැඩපොළේදී නිමවා ඇත. පසුකාලීන අලුත්වැඩියාවන් නිසා මුල් පෙනුම වෙනස් වී ඇති මෙම බස් රථයට වර්තමානයේ ජවය සැපයෙන්නේ ටාටා එන්ජිමක් මගිනි. ප්‍රධාන කාර්යාලයේ සේවක පිරිස් ප්‍රවාහනය සඳහා රථය යොදා ගනී.

DeleteThis is not a TATA or a Mercedes Benz. This is a TATA Benz. Made in India through a joint venture between TATA and Mercedes before TATA started their own productions as TATA. Body built in Sri Lanka.
DeleteFurther on this. In 1954 TATA (then TELCO) started a joint venture with Daimler Benz and they started with manufacturing lorries which has a German made engine. Later they entered bus manufacturing business and in 1960's CTB started purchasing these TATA Benz buses, instead of all European fleet. The single door (C D and E types) bearing 23 Sri 3000 and 4000 series are not EP322, EP322 came few years earlier. The bodies of these TATA BENZ's were built in Sri Lanka. However, the joint venture terminated in 1969 and TATA started making their own engines and buses. As Uthpala said, these came in early 1970's numbering 23 sri 5000 series and above.

23 sri 2113 is a number before 1969. Then it is a TATA Benz..
