සංචාර සේවා ඇණිය සඳහා එංගලන්තයෙන් ආනයනය කර ඇති AEC RFW වර්ගයේ බස් රථයක මහනුවරදී ලබාගන්නා ලද පින්තූරයකි. මුල් කාලීනව මෙම රථ උඩුබද්දාව විශේෂ සංචාර ඩිපෝව යටතේ පවතී ඇති අතර එකල සංචාරකයන් ප්‍රවාහනය සඳහා යොදාගෙන ඇත. මේවායේ බඳ බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය AEC සමාගම මගින් නිපදවා ඇත. එම සමාගම මගින් මෙම මාදිලියේ බස් රථ 15 ක් නිපදවා ඇති අතර එයින් 13 ක් ලංගම විශේෂ සංචාර ඇණිය සඳහා මිලදී ගෙන ඇත. මෙම ඡායාරූපය 1972 වසරේ දී ලබාගත්තක් බව උපුටාගත් අඩවියේ පළවී තිබුණි. මෙම බස් රථ වල එන්ජිම බසයේ මැද පිහිටා ඇති අතර එන්ජිමට අවශ්‍ය වාතාස්‍රය ලබාගැනීමට ඉදිරි රෝදයට පිටුපසින් ඇති සිදුර භාවිතා කර ඇත. ඡායාරූපයේ අයිතිය එහි මුල් ඡායාරූප ශිල්පියා සතුය.
1970 දශකයේ විදේශීය සංචාරකයන් රට වටා ප්‍රවාහනය කිරීම පිණිස ලංගමය මඟින් බස් කිහිපයක් යොදවා තිබුණා. ඒ අංශය හැඳින්වූයේ "Transboard Tours" නමින්. අනෙකුත් සංචාරක නියෝජිතායතන මෙන් ලංගමය ද ඒ සඳහා යොදා ගත්තේ ජපානයෙන් ආනයනය කළ බස් රථ යි (ලංගමයට තිබුණේ Mitsubishi Fuso බස්). මෙහි දැක්වෙන AEC Regal RFW බසය සංචාරක කර්මාන්තයේ මුල් අවධියේ භාවිතා කළ එකක් බව යි පෙනෙන්නේ.

Deleteonly 15 RFW coaches were built , 13 were sold to CTB for use as special tour buses( later Transboard Tours) unfortunately non have survived in SrI Lanka

ReplyDeleteThese buses were operated by Orugodawatta tourist depot not by Udubaddawa depot. In 1970s Present Orugodawatta was known as Urugodawatta. These buses carried the depot identification as UVA in sinhala & that made some one to understand as Udubaddawa.
If I remember correctly Orugodawatte had one single mercedes benz 1210 model single and two entrances in series 23 sri 2100 to 2200 which were used mainly for private hires. This Model buses were only in this depot. Transboard tours depot was at Katubedde where the current Moratuwa depot is.There was also a double decker yard in front where they scrapped them for sale around the 70s. Transboard tours had AEC RFWs Fusos and few modifed Leyland/ Ashok Comets if I remember painted cream and green .
